General Description of Position

 

The Department Coordinator supports instruction and teachers in the department through lesson plan review/feedback, assessment creation/review, data analysis, and other administrative duties. 

 

* Please note: this role could lead to a future leadership role for a candidate with the necessary transferable skills and expertise in the math content area.

 

 

 

Major Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lesson Plan support 
  • Assessment creation/review  
  • Data Analysis to inform future instruction
  • Mentors new teachers where applicable
  • Other administrative duties that support the department’s operation

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Has real command of the specified content area
  • Must have knowledge of NexGen Standards
  • Has extensive relevant teaching experience
  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to examine and implement changes necessary to produce effective and efficient systems that, ultimately, contribute to increased teacher effectiveness
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication
  • Has a high capacity for problem-solving, a demonstrated ability to manage numerous tasks and competing demands, and communication skills that foster collaboration with numerous internal and external stakeholders
